The Orchid Show exhibits thousands of different varieties of stunningly blooming orchids every year. The Flower Show at Macy’s is certainly something that should not be missed, but the Orchid Show at the New York Botanical Garden has been running for 19 years and has only gotten better over that time.
In the year 2020, the pandemic allowed Jeff Leatham’s display to be cut short, and in the year 2021, the Orchid Show only ran for a brief period of time. However, everything will get back on track in the year 2022.
What is the Orchid Show NYC?
The Orchid Show: Jeff Leatham’s Kaleidoscope is the name of this year’s festival, which is known for its pleasant weather and abundant offerings. The exhibition, which was trimmed short in 2020, will return to transform the conservatory of the garden into a tunnel of captivating floral designs reminiscent of seeing through a kaleidoscope.
The view is never the same when you gaze into a kaleidoscope, so I’m excited to bring Kaleidoscope back to the New York Botanical Garden in 2022, adds Leatham. “Kaleidoscope will be completely reimagined by me with entirely new installations compared to two years ago. Every turn will present a distinct perspective while upholding the gallery’s thematic element, which centers on a varied color experience. Visitors will enjoy the beauty of orchids and discover the NYBG Conservatory in fascinating new ways thanks to this design.”
According to the New York Botanical Garden, there will be a kaleidoscope tunnel of lights in addition to orange, yellow, and green orchid towers, undulating fields of white orchids, and plumes of purple orchids hanging overhead.
As is customary, there will also be unique Orchid Evenings during which guests will be able to see the attraction after dark, complete with a stunning light show amid the orchids. In addition to the live entertainment, there will be alcoholic beverages and food that may be purchased during the event.
