Daniel P. O’Toole is a top trial lawyer in New York. He graduated from Fordham Law in 1992 and is licensed in New York and New Jersey. Mr. O’Toole helps accident victims throughout his career. In his 30-year career, Mr. O’Toole has amassed approximately $415,000,000 in settlements and over $110,000,000 in verdicts in the last seven years. His lifetime settlements and verdicts now top $800,000. In the first eight months of 2022, Mr. O’Toole’s team settled over $120 million in lawsuits. In 2020, Mr. O’Toole had the first and seventh largest premises liability settlements. Services Performed

Mr. O’Toole is a strong proponent for construction worker safety and serves as Co-Chairman of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association Labor Law Committee. He will fight for legislation that safeguards New York City’s workforce and general populace.

Honors

In April 2020, Fordham Law School honored Mr. O’Toole and his wife at their Scholarship Benefactors Reception. In June 2019, Mr. O’Toole won the Frank O’Hara Distinguished Alumni Award. The prize is the University’s highest distinction and was granted to Mr. O’Toole for his legal and charitable work. In October 2018, Fordham Law School’s Feerick Center for Social Justice gave Mr. O’Toole the James F. Gill Spirit of Hope Award. His alma mater, Bergen Catholic High School, awarded him the Founder’s Medal (the school’s highest honor) in 2016 for his lifetime achievements and accomplishments. In 2018, Mr. O’Toole was selected Runner of the Year by One Mission, a Boston pediatric cancer organization, for his fundraising efforts running the 2018 Boston Marathon. Mr. O’Toole ran the 2020 Boston Marathon for HomeStart Boston, a homeless organization. He raised the third-most money by an individual runner at the Boston Marathon.

From 2008 to 2021, Mr. O’Toole was a “Super Lawyer” in New York, making him one of the top 5% of personal injury lawyers in the state. Since 2009, Mr. O’Toole has been a Top 100 Trial Lawyer. From 2010 through 2020, he’s been in the Irish Legal 100, which celebrates top Irish American lawyers in the US. Mr. O’Toole is also one of New York’s Best Lawyers for 2014-2020.

In 2012, New York’s Brehon Law Society named Mr. O’Toole Lawyer of the Year. Institute of Jewish Humanities named him Lawyer of the Year in 2012 and 2013. In March 2013, Mr. O’Toole was named Man of the Year by the Brooklyn to Alaska Project.
